I've been enjoying my K701s with a little dot mk 3 and a keces 151. I love them so far, just itching to try something else now.

What solid state amps are recommended with the K701?

My shanling ph100 brings bass up and tightens everything up compared to just using my sound card output.

The sound card made it seem as if the music was hovering around my ears/head. The shanling makes the K701's pump the music into my head. It is a much more forward sound.

I don't know of any good ss amps besides the shanling / KICAS / and M^3.

Edit: and the C2C amp Currawong has.

I am starting to build a CK2III for my 701s right now. I have heard they're very good and I will post impressions for you if you haven't bought another before I finish. I am also coming from the LD, which IMO does not even come close to driving the 701s.

Look for a Gilmore Lite/Dynalo, Dynahi, CK2III, M^3, or Beta22.

I really don't think you can go much wrong with a β22.
Some information about your budget would be nice though. As there are amplifiers out there from $10 to $10,000+

Oops, I totally forgot to mention that.... around $200 would be good.

Heed CanAmp has a reputation here on Head-Fi for good synergy with the K701. I gave this pairing a listen at the last U.K. meet and can fully understand why.........very nice indeed.

Seems difficult to get your hands on a heed canamp though. There aren't any on ebay. where's the retail chanel?

A Bada PH 12 Hybrid perhaps ( double your budget though ). It also has upgrade possibilities for further improvement down the road. Lots of Head Fi members love their upgraded Bada's...

I second the Beta22...but it's also another 1K over and above the Bada.

The 701's are the least wallet friendly cans next to Stax or the K1000's. IMO at least.
