I use both Jetaudio and Media Monkey..

Jetaudio for playing videos and converting videos. Jetaudio is the best media player out there and one of the best video converters. And if you have divx or divx pro you can use it through Jetaudio.

Media Monkey for organizing and tagging.

I wouldn't use Windows media player if you payed me...nor itunes.

J.River Media Center

Give the 30-day free trial a go, you can't lose!

And for Music-only there is the FREE J.River Media Jukebox

I have tried dozens of programs over the years and IMO/IME nothing even comes close. I won't go all fan-girl on you, but I cannot say enough about this software.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try the jetaudio first. I do use EAC foobar2k and dbPoweramp now for conversion and foo2k for listening but like you said it's not real user friendly. does jetaudio do ASIO?

Well after seeing the poll results and reading the posts I guess I'll try j river first. Does it output ASIO? I'm using an EMU 0404 USB for my soundcard.

I thought Cowon players worked without intermediary media managing programs. Why would you ever want to inflict such a program on yourself willingly? Just organise your files.

j-river does output to asio and it's very easy to configure. You just have to go to player>playback options then you can select the output from there.
