what kind of solder do you usually use???

60/40
63/37

Best I've tried is Kester 44 63/37. Very easy to solder, low melting point.

Didn't like Kester 60/40 and Nexxtech 60/40 (The Source - RadioShack in Canada brand).

Out of silver solder, tried Wako and Wonder solder. Wonder solder is easier to work with, but still ONLY use it if you're soldering silver.

Ditto on the Kester 44 - 63/37. The "44" is also the number for the type of rosin flux inside. We had a big discussion about that recently.

I usually use Multicore 60/40. Multicore has been absorbed into Henkel and appears to be a disappearing brand. I'll likely switch to Kester '44' 60/40

I use WBT's Silver Solder, I don't honestly have a good reason from personnal experience, I just heard really good things from so many people, I ordered some. It seems okay to me, put I haven't used a lot of it yet.

I use the one and only, 60/40

60/40, 5 core resin flux, Consolidated Alloys.

Just generic solder pretty much.

I remeber there's a big debate a few month ago, talking about all sort of solder for its merits and weakness. For me, all solders except that lead free stuff are pretty much the same, but that's me. Anyways, bought Kester 44 63/37 a few month ago, and like it so far.

Radioshack silver bearing solder. I can't remember the exat ratio but the silver is something like 2%.

I use it because it's eutectic, comes in a thin enough strand to be appropriate for board work, and it's cheap/readily available at all radioshacks...

Cardas Quad Eutectic. Defiantly an amazing solder to work with. I have tried all sorts and this has got to be one of my favorite so far.

Kester 44 63/37 for most work, and 62/36/2 for anything silver plated or when the 63/37 isn't coming out shiny. I also have a tub of Kester 44 paste flux.

I use WBT silver solder, 0.8mm. Excellent solder all round and it is very thin so you use less.

Cardas Quad Eutectic a few times. Kester 44 63/37 usually.

And of course, no name brands for course projects.
