You need to learn that the correct spelling of this is "ZOTL" or "MicroZOTL" (zomething output transformer -less). Then maybe you could find Hirsch's most excellent MicroZOTL tube-rolling thread.

(Sorry, not meant as a flame, I just suspect your search results might suffer from this same problem.)

Oh, and mine:

Creek OBH-11
Creek OBH-11SE
Musical Fidelity X-CANv2
AudioValve RKV Mk II v.2
EarMax Pro
ASL UHC-Signature
Wheatfield HA2
Altoids
ASL Reference Tools

(I really do need to sell something, don't I? Just can't decide on what...)

Brocksieper Earmax Pro.

I have had it since 1997, I guess. The only upgrade: I now use NOS tubes. 1 Telefunken ECC801S, 2 Philips Miniwatt 6DJ8.

DIY CMOY
Earmax pro

Done, finished, end of story. I am very content with the EMP. If there is better than this, I don't need it. Please don't tempt me (my willpower is not infinite).

1. Creek OBH-11
2. Sonic Adventure Reality
3. Melos Gold Reference

Each one to date has been a dramatic improvement of the one before it. Let's hope the Melos is the same!

Good thread! Starting November 2001, read what you folks had to say (including about sources), thought about it a bit, and bought and kept (in order):

Porta CORDA
HeadRoom Maxed Out Home Reference
AudioValve RKV MkII v.2 (current production)

That's just so far - this doesn't ever end, does it ?!?!

No.

That's why the unofficial/official greeting to new members is "welcome to Head-fi, sorry about your wallet."

I can relate to that. Just checked my Visa statement online. I know why they call that amp "Max".

1) Built a Szekere's MOSFET amp. Not what I needed. Scrapped.
2) Built a Proto42; Rev 1
3) Re-did Proto42 perfboard layout; Rev 2
4) Re-did perfboard layout & removed signal caps; Rev 3
5) Re-did perfboard layout; Final revision, Rev 4; Thought of upgrading the buffers to EL2009's abandoned.
6) KGCA on perfboard coming up.
