Total Airhead: Exchanged first one because it had an out of balance pot, then learned desoldering skills on the replacement because it's pot wasn't all that well centered either.
Later I had it "upgraded" to fix the excessive power consumption problem that the first TA's had. When I got it back I noticed that one channel would cut out sometimes. I traced it down to a bad solder connection on one of the main amp chips so I resoldered that.
Then the ground pin on the headphone out jack broke off the board and I fixed that also. Yesterday evening I noticed the the line in jack was acting weird... the ground pin has broken on that one now. I guess it's back to to soldering board again.
Other than those problems, it's a nice little amp, and if I had the money I wouldn't mind seeing what one of the new versions are like.
Creek OBH-11 SE: The sound wasn't to my liking, and I found the design of the amp questionable. The class A circuit combined with no heatsinks made the transistors in the amp circuit get extremely hot.
I returned it to Audio Advisors, and then discovered the horror of trying to get a return processed to a credit card that doesn't exist. The day I sent the amp back I lost my credit card and had to kill it's account, so you can imagine the confusion that resulted.
Corda Headamp DIY: Wanted to try my hand at putting together a DIY kit, and the Headamp seemed like a good deal. I had a blast putting it together, and it work, looks, and sounds great.
Only problems I had was the volume pot making a ton of scratching noise until I grounded it, and trying to get the powerswitch housing into the back plate.
