What is the headphone that you will keep forever and never sell?

2x HE6 blown? You monster.

Have one great monster of an amp built for life, save the planet (and your HE6) along.

Probably my vintage Stantons. Not by any means the best, or most expensive. But my wife bought them for me for Christmas in 2019 and it's one of the ones that got me back in the hobby after a four year hiatus.

I also put the most effort into modifying them and making them my own.

I think I am done with headphones with my current DCA Stealth and RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE using a pentaconn connection. I love the combo and doubt I would ever be able to sell it.
Yes, the match between headphones, amp and source is important. :)

There is another headphone I'm never going to sell and that's the Audio-Technica ATH-R70x, it's basically a perfected and more neutral HD 6xx series for me. Saying this as someone who also owns the HD 600, HD 650, HD 660S, and HD 660S2.

Agreed, the r70 is strongly underrated

Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro is the one sounding the most to my taste and it is built like a tank, it will be around for a long time ...

Yeah it sounds like you mix the HD 600 and HD 660S mids together but a bit warmer(not HD 650 or 660S2 warm though), it also the bass extension of the HD 660S2 and better imaging than any of them imho. The HD 650 is the most different due to it's thick rounded midrange.
