I just purchased the A900s (and, at the same time, ordered some A500s to my niece).

My wife tells me they're the last headphones she'll let me buy.

I'm sure gonna miss her . . . .

I used to own the ATH-W100 (sold 'em to ProFingerSk8er

)

I've heard:
A500 (great value)
A900 (even better than the A500 - worth it if you have the source for it)
A1000 (better than the A900 but not worth the price increase IMO)
W1000 (dry, lifeless, analytical cans - there only saving grace is their fast attack, something which the other woodies I've heard lack)
W2002 (the best AT can I've heard, but its slow attack hurts its sound)

I want to hear:
W11JPN (a more refined W100?)
D1000 (I like the novelty of the optical interface and including DAC)
L3000 (supposed to be a better W2002 with the fast attack of the W1000 - it has the potential to be the best AT can and one of the best headphones period, but we'll see in June

I'm halfway there to that combo, but the amp is digital only for the input so I don't know if I want to go for it.

oh ya, I want some more audio-technica cans so message me if you have any for me.

I bought my first pair of high end cans from immtbiker about a month ago herer on this board. A piar of ATH-W100s. I hadn't heard them before buying, but I fell in loved with them when I saw them in a forum here. I am so happy with them, and when I get more cash I'll look into other AT cans...right now I need a better amp for them them though, but that's another thread story!
