Hey Guys,
I am looking to buy a new pair of headphones with a budget of $150. The headphones should be extremely comfy as I will be wearing these for up to eight hours. The design of the headphones doesn't worry as I don't need any isolation from my environment so closed or open back headphones don't worry me and I will be fine with both.
I will be using these headphones with music such as this:

The Current headphones I have in mind are:
- Shure SRH440 - $105
- Grado SR80i - $99.00
- Allessandro MS1 - $109.99
- Sennheiser HD518 - $129.95
- Audio Technica ATH AD700 - $149.00

I'm willing to take any headphone recommendations as well.

IMO there is no better hp for comfort than the Beyer series. Two choices:

dt770-for closed with good bass impact

dt880-open with more neutral signature

dt990-very open with nice sound stage and more bass

GL!!

The SRH440 with 840 pads is a good way to go.

As far as comfort, you may want to steer clear of some of those on-ear models you mentioned in the OP.  Personally I can't wear on-ear phones for more than 2 hours without discomfort, and definitely not for 8 hours.

That's just me though, but it would rule out the top 3 from your list and leave you with the AD700's and the HD518's.
