As one who has said it in other posts... there is no doubt that my AD2000's out of my WA6SEm... sound almost identical to my Stax 507's out of my Stax 007tII. The AD2000's may have a very slightly richer, warmer, more robust sound... but... otherwise sound virtually identical to me.
To me, the AD2000's are one of the best available... and... a huge bargain. Though, you do have to apply the "Phat Pad" mod to lift the drivers from your ears, which adds clarity and soundstage, and eliminates the stidency in the upper mids and highs.
