Anyone here who has experience with the Sennheiser hd 239 headphones. If, what do you think about them? What can you compare them with?

Does it matter that the earpads have a little smaller area where the sound goes thru?

What are your opinions about the sound quality. I have hd 239 and hd 518, which one would you listen with?

The hd239 get a lot of head time. Very solid performers and lovely to wear. Some of the best open portables with awesome sound quality and fun factor.

I had the hd238 which sounded very distorted. Is the 239 completely devoid of audible distortion? The px100-II also has some distortion but it was way less than the hd238

No not at all distorted. By the way, it's on Tyll's wall of fame as the number one open ear pad headphone.

I doubt it would get there if there is anything wrong with the sound. The opposite.

However, if you want an open ear pad headphone I would urge you to listen to the Yamaha HPH-200. The Yamaha and the 239 are the best two in my opinion.

Cheers,
K

Feel the same way that you do about the HD 239. I will have to look into the HPH-200.
