Dear Colleagues who have had opportunity to have a closer look to these models. Do you know what makes the differences (in construction) to them. At my not very much experienced knowledge (but I did hear both, and have T70):

1) Angled position of transducers.
2) Probably the quality of cabling.
3) Grey membrane between transducers and ears (what is it made for?).
4) Genuine leather pads.

So, are these all differences which have an influence to the sound?

Do we can say such thesis?:

1) Transducers are the same in these 2 models of headphones.
2) After changing earpads and cables do we can get an approach to T5p sound?

Keep up the good work honestly. I appreciated to know a little bit more about those headphones.

Headphones manufactured by well known companies are usually priced according to their sound capabilities, so those subtle changes are usually signs of research to get a better sound. There are also differences not visible with the naked eye, magnet force, etc...

1) Angled position of transducers.
Likely, and certainly this gives T5p some features similar to T1

2) Probably the quality of cabling.
Not probably. I wouldn't appreciate the quality of T5p's cable.

3) Grey membrane between transducers and ears (what is it made for?).
Very likely. I think this is the main difference between the T5p and T70, in terms of construction.

4) Genuine leather pads.
Neutral. The leather pads have some impacts on the bass and soundstage of course, but I don't think the pads only can make the big difference from T70.

Not Likely.

I didn't try that, but I would expect it improve the T70's bass and probably a little bit mids. The soundstage of T70 is naturally not as big as T5p, and by changing leather pads I would expect an even smaller soundstage. Overall I don't think that would help much, cause their sound signatures are just too different.
