I just finished Eragon by Christopher Paolini and now making my way through Eldest. So far the series is not a bad read but I do find Paolini's writing a bit tame compared to GRRM or Hobb and others in this genre. I guess the series is more geared to young adults.
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. I like Brandon Sanderson, his style of writing is light, not so detailed its stuffy, but detailed enough to draw the atmosphere and the world.
I just found some old novels reprinted, its a classic by Indonesian novelist called N.H. Dini. She has this autobiography about her childhood, which kinda has similar theme to Laura Ingalls Wilder "Little House" series (don't laugh, but The Long Winter --it's translated into "Musim Dingin yang Panjang" here in Indonesia-- is my 1st novel I ever read. I was on my 5th year of elementary school btw).
