you really should give it a try. it's not quite as fast or brutal as the NA series, but it has excellent character development and a very good storyline

^ Lol.

Oh try these out seriously. It might look like a ugly duckling but that book is epic. Also Eragon. Both are part of a Trilogy.

The American cover is slightly different.

i'm actually on brisingr of the inheritance trilogy. can't wait for ''inheritance'' (Nov 2011). thanks for the other recommendations though :). also, my gf recently gave me her whole collection of agatha christie's novels, so i'm gonna plow through all 80 of them before i move on to anything else :p

I can't wait either, to me the story is trailing off as soon as you hit in-between the middle book.

Almost like it loses it's plot and or pace.

I usually re-read but I slacked off a bit on that series.

Unfortunately, my patience for reading has gone down the drain in the past few years, as much as I love it.

Right now though I'm switching between re-reading my paperback copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (that nice one with all five of the books in it), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The latter I absolutely love, it drips with sarcastic quips and anger that I feel transcends across the generations. It's an always relevant piece.

I'm currently reading through AGUIRRE: The Re-creation of a Sixteenth-Century Journey Across South America. It'd be a great book for you if you're interested in either South American history or contemporary travelogues.
