I try to listen to as wide range of music as possible and give everything a chance with an open mind. Typically I tend to concentrate on one or two genres at a time and as the seasons change so do I naturally progress from one area of music to the next. Sometimes I try to tackle an entirely foreign genre and sometimes I revisit old acquaintances.
Contrary to what I just said I can sometimes be incredibly picky when it comes to music. I've stumbled across Old Raves End on Bandcamp before and decided to pass on it after previewing a few of the tracks. I'll give it a second chance, but it's always possible it's simply not the kind of music I'm in the mood for right now or perhaps the artist's musical language just doesn't resonate with my core.
The inclusion of fan profiles on Bandcamp is a really useful way to discover new music. Once you find a few people who share similar tastes it's really easy to discover great obscure releases by taking a quick look at their collection. I approve!

This man has a fantastic voice. The music is really well written too. Overall the album is just incredible!
Edit
I'm in luck. QUADROPHENIA just came out with a new album today.

DJ Koze (feat. Ada) Homesick
I'm especially happy to report that this DJ Koze record absolutely rules, since I bought the 2xLP sound-unheard based only on how much I liked his last one, which was maybe 8 years ago.
Dexter Gordon Second Balcony Jump
Dug this one out after seeing the post on it above......
