Today it's been a lot of Matt Pike, particularly High on Fire's blistering, mind-numbing "Death Is This Communion" and "Blessed Black Wings." But I'm at the end of my work day, now, so I'm finishing with a mellow masterpiece he played on, Sleep's "Dopesmoker" (a/k/a "Jerusalem"). This album has its charms, especially when one is trying to get into the "zone" of concentration or is about to succumb to, err, sleep. I'm sure there are other times, as well. Oh, to be 21 again.

"Desolation Row" - Bob Dylan :)

Back in the day, I had "Highway 61 Revisited" on cassette. I kept a little portable cassette player and radio in my bathroom. Every morning, for six months, when I got up to take a shower and get ready for work, I played that entire album on cassette. I never missed a day for six months! I have it memorized!

I listened to Blessed Black Wings today as well. Threw it into my van's CD rotation along with Sleep's cousin OM-enjoying their new disc.
