What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Well, I'm not comparing the CD to viny as I no longer do vinyl.

My question is more about the mix as I think the mix on the 40th is different from the CDs I posted > here. Was wondering if you heard my perceived difference?

As for sound quality, I also think the 40th sounds less expansive than the Mo-Fi CD. And again, I can't speak on vinyl as that's no longer my thing.
I doubt if I'll hear your perceived difference as I'm sure you've listened to the album a lot more than I have and would pick up differences that there's no way that I would.

Louis Armstrong - The Complete Hot Fives and Hot Sevens Recordings.png
Two discs of the Hot Fives and one disc of the Hot Sevens. Recorded from
1925 to 1930 and a game changer for the world of jazz. Satchmo taught jazz
musicians how to solo and wrote music to showcase individual talents.

This song is representative of the recordings' SQ. The music is a delight,
once I learned to ignore the tape hiss. Here, Mr. Armstrong demonstrates
the art of scat singing.

Song composed by Kid Ory - he's the trombonist.

Song composed by Lil Hardin, Louis' wife.

The 78rpm version released as a single.

Now with the Hot Seven, there's a tuba as bass line. This song has the
rhythm of ragtime. It's called stop-time rhythm.

Switched over to Wynton Marsalis' and Jazz at Lincoln Center's version
of the music. Wycliffe Gordon on the tuba.

That's perfectly fine, but also understand others also may not feel the same. That's the beauty of music... it touches us in personal ways.
Thanks for pointing that out. Re-reading what I wrote above I noticed that it could be understood almost contrary to what I actually wanted to convey. I couldn't agree more on that everyone has his/her own preferences and ways to experience music and surely wouldn't want to leave the impression that -heaven forbid- my idiosyncratic predelections are the only way or any ....er than anyone else's.

Back to business 🎉
