[Columbia: released October, 1972.] This is the album in which Santana departed from a popular 'Latin rock' to a spiritual 'jazz fusion'. The compositions and the musicianship are stellar. Caravanserai laid the foundations for

[Columbia: released November, 1973.] which is the apex of a reborn, revamped, revitalised Santana (person & group). Welcome is an astonishing oeuvre - still richly rewarding after 50+ years.

Got these from a local shop (2ND & Charles) selling used music (CDs, Vinyl) and books, for $14.17 total (with taxes). Most of their CDs go for less than 4 bucks, and very rarely above 8, even on doubles so you can get some real gems there if you're lucky. Of course, you have to watch out for the F-condition CDs, which none of these are. You can easily examine the CDs, so you know visually exactly what you're getting before going to the register...

The Ray Charles CD I got came with an extra disc...

Anyway, I've been meaning to get both the Ray Charles CD forever, and the Carly Simom has been in my Amazon basket for a while as I wanted the song, You're So Vain. The Norah Jones is because I started collecting her older CDs.

I'm about to rip to PC and then listen to the discs later :sunglasses:
Listened to the Carly Simon CD. Nothing earth shattering there for me, but did only get it for You're So Vain, which I like a lot, it was worth the $4 bucks.

Currently listening to Norah Jones, The Fall CD (2009). Once again, she doesn't disappoint. The one underlying thing I love about Norah is no matter what she puts out, there's this undertone of down-home country that I really like and find very relaxing. BTW, it's also why I'm a Sheryl Crow fan, but that's a different story.

Anyway, the only Norah Jones album I have that kind of departs from that is her Little Broken Hearts (2012) album produced by Danger Mouse. It's actually one of my favorite Norah Jones albums, but for a different reason, as it's a rather dark album and one that departs from her squeaky-clean persona. It's also a damn good album.

Ironically, listening to The Fall, musically, it kind reminds me of Little Broken Hearts, but lyrically, it's typical Norah, which I also love. Sound quality is excellent, and music is slightly bass heavy. Glad I got this one. Though I show the PC files, my listen was with the CD - Rotel CD Player > Pontus DAC > Artemis HPA > HD800S

Love this song when I've feeling... a bit aggressive and loud. Here's an alternate version that always brings a smile to my face.
