Gino Vannelli Brother To Brother (1978 A&M).

I've always loved this album since first hearing when I was in tech school in 79 after joining the military. One of my dormmates turned me onto it, and I got it shortly after arriving at my first duty station that same year. Still have that vinyl. This is the CD ripped to PC in FLAC.

ghI've been listening to this Weather Report 8:30 (1979) live album for the last couple of days and listening to it though the Artemis headphone with the Sennheiser HD800S is just pure bliss. The amp has brought that analog sound I've been looking for ever since I got the CD. I absolutely love Birdland because it has presence that I'd missed when listening to the CD. The Artemis has brought that analog sound back, making it even more enjoyable now, and thus the reason it's been in my CD player the last couple of days. This is my ripped FLAC version...

...

There isn't a track on this set I don't like, but some of my favs are Birdland, Badia/Boogie Woogie Waltz Medley, A Remark You Made, and Slang (Bass Solo). I still have my vinyl version I bought when this album released in 79 :relaxed:
Couldn't agree more, eargasmique throughout and one of Joe's favorite records.
From the liner notes: "... what sounds like eight musicians onstage, is really just four! A fearsome four!"
(I have the vinyl version as well :beerchug:).

Cooking right now ...

Metro is the debut studio album by English rock band Metro. Recorded in 1976, it was released in 1977 through Transatlantic and Sire Records. It is the band's only album to feature both of the core members, Peter Godwin and Duncan Browne, due to the latter's departure in 1978.[2]

The album spawned the single "Criminal World" in 1977. The song was banned from BBC playlist due to its sexual content, which resulted in the record's commercial failure. It was later covered by David Bowie in his 1983 album Let's Dance, renewing interest in Metro's early work.[3]

Saw Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin at Yoshis Oakland last night. Lee’s son Wesley was amazing on drums, and Melvin Lee Davis was impressive on 5 and 7 string bass. Grusin is 89 and still going strong! Great show… They played a few songs from this album…
