Miles Davis - The Man With The Horn 1981
Fired from the quintet in ‘68, 'for returning late from his honeymoon' (a rather unsympathetic ground for dismissal, although typical of the often icy Davis).
Hancock had already started focusing on his own music, which would increasingly incorporate mainstream elements into his otherwise challenging compositions throughout the late '60's - During his period in the quintet Hancock also released solo albums Empyrean Islands and Maiden Voyage, two of the most popular Jazz albums of that decade.
Following and continuing the Funk-y 1973 "Headhunters"-
Herbie Hancock - "THRUST" (1974)

Yotum Arni - Just Another Day, a slow burning electronic vocal led track with sax/trumpet (they both sound the same to me ) that builds and builds with a sense of urgency
