Listening now

The first song that most (if not all) aspiring guitar players of my generation (including myself) learned to play. This and Stairway to Heaven.

I only found out a few years ago it's - 'Funky Claude' I could never make out what was said when listening as a teenager.

Claude Nobs invited Roberta Flack to the Rose d’Or de Montreux

Brian Blade - Mama Rosa.png
This is an album of ballads all written by Brian except this one by Milton Nascimento.
Mama Rosa was Brian's grandmother.

A duet between Brian and the main collaborator: Daniel Lanois.

Brian Blade - Kings Highway.png
Song composed by John Cowherd, the pianist.

Song composed by Brian Blade.

Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose.png
A duet with Loretta and Jack.

I'm sure that every word is true.

From 2009, 2023 and 2004. Focus on the soulful music of Brian Blade - turns
out he's much more than just a great drummer. The Coal Miner's Daughter was
age 70 when she recorded Van Lear Rose; Loretta wrote and sang the songs
while Jack White mixed and produced the music. The result is a masterpiece.

Jethro Tull - Aqualung (1971/1990 Wilson remix remaster):L3000:

Seen twice, 1972, or '3 in Germany and again in 1976 Providence, R.I. which was either general admission or we just stormed the front of the stage (not a good idea), where a crowd crush from behind became dangerous for the smaller girl in front of myself, so I sort of got lower and used useful kempo karate training to carve out some breathing space - the struggling cutie showed thanks for with a big smile and us now having a bit of room to sway to Ian and crew's dramatic stage show full of facial expressions and signature performance antics - we both were sweating as much as Ian as we could clearly see. It was apparent these guys really had a good time performing together. Hahaha Great stage show!

I've started collecting some of those Jethro Tull 40th Anniversary titles that are the same size and shape as a book, and each one essentially has a book, some of which are over 100 pages; these are not quick read booklets. Some of them have lots of extras and live shows, some have almost nothing extra but the great packaging and SW re-mixes, depending on what Ian had available and wanted to put out. Most of these are no longer available so I've been having to try to hunt them down for somewhat reasonable prices.
