Miles Davis - Sketches Of Spain

This is one of Miles Davis's more controversial albums where fans either loved or hated it and many didn't get the flamenco vibe Miles was after.

When I first heard it, I didn't like it, though I did take a liking to the last track Solea. It's grown on me enough to listen to a lot more, though I still mainly play Solea.

[ recorded September, 1957; released January, 1958.] One of his finest recordings. Musicality, technique are astounding - with only a hint of the exploratory, "sheets of sound" mode which came later. Superb is the group, too!

But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away
Yeah, you're so far away

I played that Friday night

Love I Feel The Earth Move. I remember hearing that as a kid and liking it.
