Here is one that really lives up to its name: [Blue Note: recorded March, 1958; released August, 1958.] The definitive rendition of Autumn Leaves. That to start with! This album is the only one where Miles Davis is credited as a sideman - contractual restriction from Columbia Records.

I've posted this a few times.... one of my all-time favorite albums. My two favorite tracks are Autumn Leaves, and One For Daddy-O.

BTW, the first time I ever heard Autum Leaves, was a live version sung by the jazz singer Rachelle Ferrell off her album First Instrument album (1995). I love that live vocal version and play it all the time. It doesn't supplant Cannonball's version, but I do love her live version equally so...
