2CD 1957-'58/1994 Verve reissue.
way laid back Jazz & Blues based standards (mood music old farts

seemingly can only enjoy listening to, I don't mind saying ;')
A great way to tune up the ear/neural brain functions while warming up the
system before the long days promised aural musical explosive experiences~

Inspired by a trip to Tijuana, Tijuana Moods was recorded in 1957 but was sat on by RCA until its release in 1962.
Bassist/composer Charles Mingus at the time said that this was his greatest recording, and it certainly ranks near the top.
It has often been said that Mingus forced and pressured his sidemen to play above their potential, and that is certainly true of this project.
The passionate playing, exciting ensembles, and high-quality compositions make this a real gem, and it represents one of Charles Mingus' finest hours.
1962/2002 Reissued RCA Bluebird :sunglasses:

Sassy cover for the era - I remember my dad loudly giving my older sister (1959)
holy 'ell (without a swear word said) for going out wearing Bermuda shorts 👿 lol
( :scream: Such a common proper little tramp :slight_smile:)

1000 Bone Cylinder Explosion - Bind (released in 2021)

I got amped on this release recently. It is the metal music for a rave, making you dance all night. Pulsating riffs are the most stood-out feature of this album. Those riffs make an enormous synergy with the easy-to-grasp melodies and frantic vocal works that embody insanity. But structure-wise, it is not satisfactory work. All the tracks sound like being played using the omnipresent metal repertoire which can be easily found in other metal albums of the same genre label.

Very cool ... thanks for the idea on Mingus. He was a genius, and they're often difficult in life and especially in-studio
because their standards are so high. I have a mate who worked with Miles Davis and Frank Zappa; he made a similar
comment about them.

For today:

Music composed by Richard Rodgers.

These two songs were composed by Chick Corea.

Here are the twin flutes in action - a cool sound.

Music composed by Thelonious Monk.

From 1998, a sextet with a week's stay at the Blue Note in NYC. One of Chick's
strongest groups; the rhythm section are Avishai Cohen bass and Adam Cruz
drums. The other musicians are: Steve Wilson on alto/soprano reeds and flute,
Bob Sheppard on tenor/bass reeds and flute, and Steve Davis on trombone. So
yes, at times there are two flutes playing. HD800 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> :)
