Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Edition

This is the SACD Japanese import with a 5.1 mix that I purchased for about $80 when it first came out.

Comes with a lot of the extras that came with the vinyl release.

Nice! I discovered some of those artists when I did my first deep dive into 80's music about a decade ago. I particularly like Sandra.

It's not quite as obscure as you might think - 'Hot Child In the City' was a pretty good sized hit and sold a lot of copies so I doubt if the single is worth much of anything unless it's signed or something, and rest assured that most people over a certain age who listened to Top 40 radio have heard this song.

I'm 46 and I remember it.

Oh shi-- a new OMD! I didn't realize they had one out. I like English Electric and The Punishment of Luxury from their new phase. Thanks for posting this!

^ This is surprisingly a pretty straight forward/traditional/classic jazz album. Washington plays "classically" without much of a "smooth jazz" sound and the piano often takes the lead. It's a good dinner/dinner party/classy/evening jazz album.

^ Good dark/cold wave album for chilly/cold Fall weather.

The soundtrack to Quake
Welcome to head-fi @Oboe - Consistently game and movie "sound tracks" are very high quality recordings which their large budgets affords this often year long work to be done. Good call, "Quake"

Here's a gasser for 2023 from the Japanize Jazz scene greats:
Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio’s
A Shade of Blue (very finely recorded with 12 microphones(?) and exquisitely performed - hard to believe the combined age of this trio is 215 years. On the other hand, these guys are so good that perhaps a couple hundred years of combined experience is needed to reach this level. ~

In keeping with this threads recent seasonal themed music, offered here is a cheap X-mas :smirk: 🤷‍♂️
(until you see the pricing of the vinyl box set @ $1300 ) :scream:

The soundtrack to Quake
The original Quake game was great and included the soundtrack on it if you put the game cd in a regular cd player. Was my first introduction to Trent Reznor. I'll have to see if I still have it somewhere 🤔
