I stumbled back onto an amazing track that I have obviously known about for decades (came out in 1978) and realize I am just now hearing it for the first time via this modern headphone rig. Heart, Mistral Wind from the Dog And Butterfly album. Which is available for download in 24/ 192 at Qobuz. Or HiRes FLAC streaming. I subscribed since this sounds way better than the highest resolution at Spotify Premium.
Nancy Wilson's fingerpicking guitar style on this is absolutely captivating as much by the fascinating rhythms that she leaves out, as by what she leaves in. The mix is seasoned with additional sound flavors flying at you from all angles. It must have taken countless days of recording, mixing, listening, adding and taking away brief pieces, and then mixing again to find out what to add next. And of course Ann Wilson is one of the most passionate rock singers of all time and in her prime on this, their third album. It is also by far the brightest track I have come across which begs the AnandaNanos for EQ.

Dog And Butterfly is an excellent album, only topped by Dreamboat Annie (IMO) in their catalog.

I just want to say thanks to everyone taking the time to post. I just realised there is more music here than I can listen to 48 hours a day!

Oh, and Happy Holidays!

I read info, that Jon and band cannot use name YES on this album, because for legal reasons. But even that was album released in 1989. Record quality nothing perfect. But i love it.

Try this song "Birthright". And i must say this song will testing your system really hardly. Around 3th min the music will start to hit on you hardly and i really dont remember some IEMs which was play this really well. Especialy, if your system has bright sound character. I try Elysian Acoustic Annihilator right now and even this top IEM ee.

Have a nice rest of weekend all.

Sunday morning 🤗

I couldn't get it. Just didn't like the way it was presented; but I loved this presentation of Aerosmith's Dream on with Morgan James, of whom I'd never heard of, but her voice and range is amazing there....

And for clarity, I'm not saying Tawanda (also one I'm not familiar with) can't sing, I'm saying I didn't like the presentation of that song. Anyway, nice band.

Please be aware not everyone has a Qobuz subscription so when we click a link like that, we're asked to accept cookies and not taken directly to the song in question.

Anyway, I have Heart's Dog and the Butterly album, so I'm familiar with Mistral Wind. Yes, the guitar work is outstanding there. My favorite song on that one in Dog and Butterfly. My favorite Heart song is Barracudda, followed by Magic Man.

Anyway, I get your point about how new equipment can make some things come alive and suddenly a song you paid no attention to now grabs you. And also, why I love listening to music on headphones.
