Brilliant soundtrack for one of the best crime thriller TV series ever. Needless to say, if a series has Massive Attack's "Paradise Circus" as the title song, the soundtrack has to be good :relaxed:

I stumbled back onto an amazing track that I have obviously known about for decades (came out in 1978) and realize I am just now hearing it for the first time via this modern headphone rig. Heart, Mistral Wind from the Dog And Butterfly album. Which is available for download in 24/ 192 at Qobuz. Or HiRes FLAC streaming. I subscribed since this sounds way better than the highest resolution at Spotify Premium.
Nancy Wilson's fingerpicking guitar style on this is absolutely captivating as much by the fascinating rhythms that she leaves out, as by what she leaves in. The mix is seasoned with additional sound flavors flying at you from all angles. It must have taken countless days of recording, mixing, listening, adding and taking away brief pieces, and then mixing again to find out what to add next. And of course Ann Wilson is one of the most passionate rock singers of all time and in her prime on this, their third album. It is also by far the brightest track I have come across which begs the AnandaNanos for EQ.

I actually owned the exact same single from Nick Gilder ------ Hot Child in the City ------- What a blast from the past!!!!
I was only 12 years old (1978).

Thanks for posting that. That 45-single could probably be found in a museum today. I'd hold onto it, it's probably worth a nice chunk of change by now. The sad thing is, most people at this site have never heard that song.
It's not quite as obscure as you might think - 'Hot Child In the City' was a pretty good sized hit and sold a lot of copies so I doubt if the single is worth much of anything unless it's signed or something, and rest assured that most people over a certain age who listened to Top 40 radio have heard this song.

Totally agree about the 'Luther' series; been a fan of Idris since 'The Wire'.
