One thing I love about Spotify is when you finish listening to something they continue to play stuff similar to what you were listening to. So after previewing Donald Byrd's Electric Byrd (which I ordered), they offered up this gem... Donald Byrd - Kofi (1970)

It too is an absolute gem. Trying to find a CD copy of it now. YouTube full album (watch your speaker volume!!)...

Probably my favorite Byrd album. But he's got so many great ones!

“The process of creating this animated video was very old school. It took about two months of continuous work to complete. I hand painted each individual frame with oils on small pieces of primed paper. After I photographed each frame, I'd rub down certain elements with a rag and work over other areas in order to create a sequence of movements. Nothing was pre-planned. No storyboard was used.
