I love CCD. Rhiannon has one of the purest voices I have ever heard live. My cousin Benjy Fox Rosen - Luminescent Orchestrii) played base on Escoutas. But he never offered to introduce me to the CCD!

Impressions: The band moves more toward fusion (read: more structure) with each
of these albums. I agree with @LarsMan that "Crossings" is great, albeit a bit spacey
which is the point. "Sextant" is a bit more structured and also great. The varieties of
electronic gear and synthesizers is fascinating and advanced for the time. Herbie is
very experimental. Everyone has heard "Head Hunters" which was by far the biggest
commercial success of these four. Happy listening, all.

Ever see this before?

Yes...I saw them play that on that tour actually: my first Rush show and my first concert (besides classical ones as a small child)! They played that many times on subsequent tours I saw.

Oddly enough, this is one of my fave Rush tracks. Why? I don't know. It just hits my Rush Chord. This is a great liver performance of this track. They are in the zone and pocket.

Counterparts is one of my least favorite Rush albums (which means I still like it very much lol), but Animate is one of my all-time favorite Rush songs. It's unique and has some (even for Rush) great drumming, bass guitar and guitar. Always liked seeing it live.

Love these performances and the recorded sound. I like it better than the much praised Toradze/Gergiev recordings. The sound is excellent and although it lacks some bass (which is usual with many early 90's digital classical recordings) it makes up for the lush, full bodied mids and spaciousness. The sound of the Gergiev recordings (late 90s on Philips classics) are warmer and more natural but in this exceptional case I prefer this brighter Chandos recording, everything sounds so clear, with lots of presence.

I'm fond of that one too. Lots of Jarvi efforts are very good imo.
