That was the magic of 4AD. Hard to catalog, yet always excellent bands/releases: Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, His Name is Alive, This Mortal Coil, Bauhaus, The Birthday Party, the amazing Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares (in this case a re-release, but I probably wouldn't know them without Ivo).

BTW, Steven Wilson has put out a compilation of his favorites from the post-punk era, and it includes lots of 4AD stuff. I believe there are variations on this; the one I got had 6 LP's, I believe, in a box set.

Yes, that's it - I guess it's 7 LP's worth! They did one release of this in February and it sold out, so the next batch won't be ready for shipping until October... Not sure how it will be for CD's.
