“The suspense over which album by the Beatles might be next in line to get a remix and bonus-filled boxed-set treatment is over: It’s officially “Revolver.”

Apple Corps and Universal Music have confirmed that a deluxe celebration of the 1966 release — which, like the Beatle boxes that have preceded it, will include a Giles Martin remix — is in the pipeline for this fall.

An official announcement of the project is not expected to come until some time in September, at which point details about the deluxe package’s contents and a release date will be forthcoming.”

The suspense was over a long time ago, and the box set was released last week..... I got the vinyl set, and 1 LP is mono, 1 LP is the new re-mix (similar to the difference between the old and newer mixes of Pink Floyd's 'Animals'), and 2 LP's are studio outtakes and chatter, and you can hear how some of these songs developed.

The Giles Martin re-mixes playing just the stereo tracks (skipping past the
other, also interesting, demos and retakes). When I listened to Revolver last
week, it sounded bright on the HD800 so today testing with the LCD-4. Much
better ... I need EQ on the HD800. Sir Paul's bass gets nice treatment with
the Audez'e cans ... IMO, they benefit a bit from bright music. I find myself
listening twice to the Revolver tracks ... great work, Giles! LCD-4 =>
