When this came out in 1981 it changed everything for me. I just loved it and it was so different from everything else that was around. I'm having a nostalgic listen today actually and it really still holds up after all these years. I saw Cabaret Voltaire play in London a year or two after this was released.

Fela Kuti is nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. These albums
are both from 1977. Following the Zombie album, drummer Tony Allen left the
band, taking most of the musicians with him. Fela and Tony were the founders of
the music genre Afrobeat, in Ghana and later Lagos. It is very engaging.
