I just had my first listen this morning. I'm amazed at the clarity. The transfer of the 80 year old recording is wonderful. I'd heard some of the Lomax recordings over the years and my remembrance is they were tinny sounding and somewhat scratchy. While this LP is not audiophile quality as you say, it is striking to hear a young talent with a borrowed guitar and broken bottle neck slide playing the music of the field.I have that too. Great music. The sound quality isn’t anywhere near audiophile quality like his ”Folk Singer” album but this one may become a collector’s item. Have you listened to it?
I'm glad I have 2 turntables. At first I thought the record was bad as I had many pops in playback. Moving to the 2nd TT showed me it was the 1st turn table set up that was amiss. Anyway, the early versions of a few recognizable songs is a treat. Kudos to Analogue Productions on a fine sounding record.
Is your LP12 the TT that's not setup well? What is your other TT? My LP12 is a 25 year anniversary model with Ivor Tiefenbrun's signature on the stainless steel baseplate that I purchased new in 1997. I've upgraded it quite extensively in 2012.I just had my first listen this morning. I'm amazed at the clarity. The transfer of the 80 year old recording is wonderful. I'll PM with my specifics so as not to bore our brethren on the site.Is your LP12 the TT that's not setup well? What is your other TT? Don’t remember how I heard about her. I listened to excerpts of this album on the ”allmusic” site and decided to buy it. Never too old to try something new. Overall it’s a pretty descent album.
Wow, very nice. Congratulations BagelJoe. Collector’s item ? Very cool. This just arrived. When the turntable is set-up again, I'll give a listen. First(?) known recordings of Muddy Waters.

This is Sync24, one half of Carbon Based Lifeforms. His new album was released today. I like it.

Don't know if it will be a collector's item as it's now used! Bought it to listen to Muddy back when-I could hear some of his future stylings. Well worth the purchase.Wow, very nice. Congratulations BagelJoe. Collector’s item ? Very cool.
