Watched that film a couple of times some years ago. Bleak, gloomy, documentary. Especially the parts where his mother is interviewed and how her demeanour reflects the despair & sadness she feels for her son. Such a talented man who's inclination towards self destruction outweighed everything else in his life.
taking a break from the new National Album tonight with more from 4AD with Big Thief / U.F.O.F.
I found this album pretty unassuming at first listen, but it seems to keep ending up at the top of my listening pile and tonight i think i realise for the first time i'm actually in love with this album.
Every track has a subtle but irresistible hook and unlike the national its a nice recording too.
