No, Triptykon is a musical project of Thomas Gabriel Fischer, founding member of heavy metal bands Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. Celtic Frost (late 80's-early 90's) was a pioneering metal act influencing today’s extreme metal. In Europe Celtic Frost are probably as well-known as Metallica in the U.S.
 
This Triptykon album was touted as one of the best metal albums in 2014. Celtic Frost and Triptykon dabbles in various genres from doom, goth, death metal, black metal, and a bit of avant garde. A lot of artistry and thought goes into Triptykon’s dark, heavy music.
