Big fan of this release-double disc- Anneke van Giersbergen of the Gathering handles the vocals on this epic prog project. She's one of my favorite vocalists.

This made my day today : the Ariel Cumbria's setting of the song  Tista črna kitara by Vlado Kreslin  http://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlado_Kreslin - into a Cuban arrangement. But, first the original :

Lyrics translation into English : http://prevodi-pesmi.com/pesem/pokazati/1659569/vlado-kreslin/besedila-in-prevodi-tista-rna-kitara/

Ariel Cumbria lives in Slovenia for some time now - and *somehow* I felt his tribute to the music of his host country will be great - yet it surpassed my wildest expectations ( with the participation of Vlado Kreslin himself, of course ) - enjoy :

The translation of the conversation between Vlado Kreslin and Ariel Cumbria in Slovenian towards the end of the vid :

AC : Vlado - where is now that black guitar ?
VK: Father has it - in the basement - tuned ... - hahaha !
He bought it in 1947 in Maribor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maribor at shop in Partisan Street 13  - Melodija Mengeš -
( our by now well established and much appreciated instrument maker http://www.melodija.si/ )
AC: And does he still play it ?
VK: Of course - you know it...

Recorded at Muscle Shoals, among other places, with an interesting selection of songs. There's a hell of a lot more to Lulu than 'Shout' and "Boom Bang-a-Bang". In fact there's some cracking tracks on here and she delivers the vocals passionately.
