I've heard D'Angelo in the past and not been impressed, but all the recommendations I've seen for 'Black Messiah' finally persuaded me to give it a listen on Spotify. Wow! He has found a very intriguing and inventive style and I will be getting this fascinating album.
This illustrates a point worth making - if you post an album cover or image with no words on it, you might want to identify what it is for those of us who don't immediately recognise it.
Awake now, wife out of the house....Snow Day breaking in the new system a little more. Let's see if it can roar: Behemoth-The Satanist (2014) and one of my favorite "audition gear" metal albums-Opeth's Ghost Reveries. This album gets better with every listen.
(above-Giant Squid-Minoans-such a unique album (2014) Alternative, weird experimental vaguely in the metal category but definitely on the experimental periphery.
