My current top three probably looks something like this:
Ghost Reveries
Damnation
Heritage
Most Opeth albums are actually surprisingly universally liked by fans, apart from the new one and Heritage, and maybe their first one or two which I have not heard yet. I guess Watershed also received a somewhat mixed response (from fans at least), but I thought it was pretty good.
I'll check em out. The new album is very melodic but that's not a bad thing.

Eh, I have a preference for the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version.
Some of the songs on the Anthology series sound better than the 2009 remastered edition.

Many of these songs are Mono "Ticket To Ride," "Help," and "Yesterday" really special stuff.
Multiple early raw versions of "Strawberry Fields Forever" John Lennon trying to get the timing right. I have all the Anthology albums this is my favorite.

Been a long time since I've listened to this album. Still prefer city of evil as an overall album, but this is a close second. If only they would have merged the two album styles together...
