Beachside talks last week released their first full-length album "Hokorobi" (more on the band here). It features four of their previous singles, plus nine new songs. They have gone quite aggressive on autotune/(vocaloid?) on some of the new songs; it is a deliberate artistic choice that fits the style of some of their music but I still haven't made up my mind whether they have taken it a bit too far. Nevertheless, overall the album features a great shoegaze/dream-pop/indie-pop sound, somewhat reminiscent of For Tracy Hyde. Some songs of the album, mostly new:

Beachside talks - Let's Go Out

Beachside talks - Big Sky

Beachside talks - Past

Beachside talks - Whisper of the Heat

Beachside talks - mizuiro

Beachside talks - Cassis

Beachside talks - sign

I would have posted this in the J-Rock thread, if it weren’t for the ban on double posts.

However, I did listen to all these song today, so it can rightfully go in the “What Are You Listening To Right Now?” thread as an alternative.

This post has been added to the index in the first post of the J-Rock thread.

Mahler "Symphony No. 3 in D minor", Jonathan Nott, Bamberger Symphoniker, Knaben des Bamberger Domchores, Chor der Bamberger Symphoniker, Mihoko Fujimura (Alto) / May 2010, Bamberg, Konzerthalle Bamberg, Joseph-Keilberth-Saal. Another great Mahler 3 recording, but in a traditional orchestra layout with antiphonal violins.
