What Are You Listening To Right Now?

My wife absolutely loves Tyler Childers (and Chris Stapleton)! I have Purgatory and Country Squires on vinyl, so when she requests that we play some Tyler Childers, I always grab the vinyl albums to play for her. Always an enjoyable listen!
Cool. I haven't listened yet, just heard about the man yesterday from an old work mate who I'd go to war with. He was over to his buddies place in the bush, target shooting, listening to Tyler and fixing up his custom Harley with suicide shift and nitrous blast. So I of course had to research Tyler and discovered the dude is working with Sturgill Simpson and getting Grammy nominations. Where the hell have I been? :)

ENRICO RAVA: “QUOTATION MARKS” - In depth @ECM

Above Rava Album was introduced to me by our audio fiend :)smiley:) @archdawg in PM as being the one Rava recording Dawg holds in highest esteem since it's LP release in 1973.

As an aside, that's a sentiment we all can empathize with, those releases which were contemporary releases as to when first heard in which ever genre or our specific generation and the great music of the day.

I was led to find Enrico Rava's prolific works first with his 2019 Joe Lovano ECM collaboration on "Roma":

Interestingly enough I was informed in PM both @archdawg and I posted this 2009 "New York Days" ECM album on the same day, while the subject of my PM was re: Thanx for posting Airto 1971 Album "Free" which I had liked enough to have saved however not played in a long while.
Funny, that's how the serendipity goes, ya know:thumbsup::smiley: Like I like it!!!

Mannheim Steamroller - Fresh Aire 1 - 1975 ( Delicacy HAWT )

Nice ... yeah, one of my alltime favorite albums. Funnily, the only digital copy I have is a a rip from my long-suffering vinyl, I never bothered to get the CD, maybe the crackle plays a part in a bunch of associated memories from the wild 80s.

This one just popped up in another shuffle session, another favorite from the late 70s (still all vinyl and tape, lol)

Should I ever build a house altar this would be one of the albums I'd put up there.

I've got some Rava albums floating around in my collection, both ECM and non-ECM (his "The Plot" remains a favorite); and of course Lovano is great as well (I listened to his recent "Our Daily Bread" not long ago, and, while not a favorite, it's pretty good).
Lovano and Enrico Pieranunzi (the "Italian Bill Evans" 😶) who recorded some great albums with Rava but also with Chet Baker back in Italy.
