Stanley Clarke Rocks Pebbles and Sand (Epic 1980). Rock/Jazz Rock...

Stanley-Clarke-Rocks-Pebbles-amd-Sand.jpg

I bought this when it was released, and I still have the vinyl album. It's one of my top all time all-time favorite Stanley Clarke albums. The other being the double studio/live I Wanna Play For You album. Yes, I have all the other ones, but these bring lots of memories. They were also the first Stanley Clarke albums I had. And I played them a lot.

If I had to choose a favorite of this it would definitively be the title track Rocks, Pebbles and Sand...

But I love this entire album.

Clarke is yet another artist that I'm working on expanding my collection of. I have that one (I've not listened to yet), but I've had his "Find Out!" album for awhile and WoW does that one have exceptional SQ (and good music)!

One of my first jazz albums ever ... waaay back in a different world.

I found out about Airto recently, and ordered that one to try out.

PS new addition to the Haydn 2032 series which is always something to look forward to in my book (so please forgive me this 2nd post) :)

Alpha has so many great releases. I'll be checking out this series when I get back to classical listening more...somehow I've overlooked it; thanks!

^ I forgot about this one before; Jarrett plays on it so I gave it a re-listen. Jarrett is so prolific that I can't even keep track of all the albums in my collection that he's played on, even as a co-leader!

For the longest time I wasn't buying music, so the last Stanley Clarke album I bought was in 2009 with Jazz In The Garden. This is what I have for of him on CD...

Most of those from these two boxsets....

The Complete 1970's includes the first five in the image above, plus the "Live 1976-1977" album. Also have those first 9 shown on vinyl. Also have the Clarke/Duke Project as well as the trio of Stanley Clarke, Ai Di Meola, and Jean Luc Ponty (all on CD).
