And speaking of Bitches Brew, just got this in today: Miles Davis Bitches Brew - 40th Anniversary (2010). $27 bucks Amazon...

Bitches Brew 40th.jpg

4-disc set (3 CDs, 1 DVD). Disc 3 is a 1970 live CD; Disc 4 is a live DVD of the 1969 session in Copenhagen. See link for track listing.

Anyway, won't be able to listen to it fully till after my grandson's Easter visit today. He's only 6, so I doubt he'll sit through a 3+hour music session

Night Verses--Every Sound Has A Color In The Valley Of Night

Shout out to YtseJamer for posting this record a while back!

I've been listening to this pretty intensely for the past couple of weeks on a variety of DAPs/Headphones. After being just blown away by it the very first listen it's gotten better and better on subsequent listens, as my brain has gradually opened up to what they're doing. Let me just say these guys are extremely virtuosic players individually and the drummer, Aric Improta, is mind boggling. It's taken a bit of time to comprehend and untangle the massive amount of musical information that one is enveloped in with each cut but it's been a gas!

Yesterday I watched them do some individual play-throughs on Youtube and was even more impressed, if that's possible. The degree of concentration and attention that it takes to play at this level is simply amazing. Not to mention their individual touch and nuance on their instruments and their brilliant use of tech.

But, as much as the virtuosity is the varied writing. These are all great songs and each one has a very different and individual feel and weight to it. That is what I think sets them apart--these are just really memorable songs and stick in my brain and I want to go back and check them out again and again!

Happy Easter with your family!
Thank you. Same to you and yours :relaxed:

Realize this set isn't new. It's been around since 2010. That said, I may have been a bit premature in ordering as I was after the Complete sessions, and I've read this isn't it.

Anyway, the live disc is the first one I previewed, but my mind it pre-occupied so....
