Been a while since I listened to this LA Express album. First time thru the McChanson Ultimate Mini. Could swear I am in the studio!
David, I certainly know how you feel. As you may remember I got a Denafrips headphone amp and DAC, and man listening to music through it is just sheer joy, and I'm beginning to come away with the same feelings, though my system has yet to fully burn in.Been a while since I listened to this LA Express album. Currently listening to this through the setup. Love this album; still only available on vinyl, but I recorded it to CD and later ripped to PC...
BTW, I have a Tom Scott L.A. Express, but this one is called Bluestreak. Haven't listened to it in ages. Might give it a listen after the above.

Piano Man (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) SACD
Edit : This remaster is better than the MOFI SACD release. Vocals sound cleaner and layering of instruments are better.

You know I’ve been following your adventures. Much more fun to come. I love me some Ron Carter thru my setup too. Thanks!David, I certainly know how you feel. Well, I'll add this quick follow up here. I'm not high on spending gobs of money on cables, so I took the frugal route and got some 1.5-foot Mogami 2549 XLR cables from Worlds Best Cables, and while they sounded ok, it seemed something was missing, even though the amps still aren't fully burned in.You know I’ve been following your adventures. Ordered and received some Quad Balanced Canare L-4E6S cables with Neutrik Silver XLR Plugs from the same Worlds Best Cables, and suddenly the system opened up with much cleaner and tighter bass, better soundstage, and more upper detail. All this for $31 dollars and 91 cents pre-tax. Honestly, I couldn't be happier now
I know people spend hundreds and thousands on cables, but this $32 dollar cable is hitting well. Just finished listening to Stevie Wonder's Talking Book, gold disc HDCD edition, and man, this album is smooth and detailed without sounding clinical. BTW, found my copy at a used records store years ago for something like 15 bucks. It's still in pristine condition
Many, classify the Artemis as very tube sounding, and well, I've never heard a tube amp, but I've heard plenty of analog with my vinyl collection, and this amp is in that category to me.
