Dig the avatar @WilliamBlake! :)

Listening today - Neil goes on offense.
Neil Young - The Monsanto Years.jpg
Neil Young - Earth.jpg
Promise of the Real is the band fronted by Willie Nelson's son Lukas, and he
is joined here by his brother Micah. Neil rants about genetically-modified food,
Monsanto and Starbucks. On the live album "Earth," he overdubs nature and
animal sounds. The AllMusic reviewer Stephen Thomas Erlewine described
"Earth" as "one of Young's genuinely inspired nutso albums." Love it.

I took this at the Cow Palace in San Francisco - this is one of the nights they recorded for the 'Live Rust' album....

Many moons ago! That is a killer album, BTW. Neil is a cool guy. And, he plays the
guitar with reckless abandon (a quote from one of my frat brothers - I think he was
describing the song "Cowgirl in the Sand." :)

I particularly like his stuff like 'Ragged Glory' and 'Weld', where he was quite influenced by punk and post-punk (I believe he was a big Sonic Youth fan), and it sounds like he punched a hole in his speakers - he sure could get a nasty, crunchy sound out of that Les Paul!

"This is the story of Johnny Rotten...."
