Just bought the new Trombone Shorty album that dropped today.

Thank you! Is it better than his last one?

Sam Bush invented progressive bluegrass back in the 1970s. When Bela Fleck
joined him in 1981, the band took off. This is a compilation of their work in the
1980s. Sammy is on the left ... he's a virtuoso on the fiddle and mandolin.

Yep - this is their song. When Garth Brooks decided to cover it, he hired NGR to
play the music for him.

Here's Sammy playing the blues via the bluegrass genre. Nice!

John Cougar's 1982 album 'American Fool'

I bought this album when it was released in '82 and played it a lot!
A really good album full of great songs, such as 'Jack & Diane', 'Danger List', and 'Weakest Moments'.
I have about 10 Mellencamp albums, including the excellent compilation album 'Words and Music'.
Simple stuff, but that suits me; I love it

I have only been through it once so far. I am a big fan and have his first four albums, so I had to buy this one. I don't love every song he does as I find some too poppy or more like R&B. I think that the only reason that he is classified as jazz is because he plays a horn. I find him more rock/pop/R&B. But I do like what he does, and I am hearing some good horn work already.

Thanks, me too. I didn't care for #4 - I think it's "Parking Lot Symphony." His first three are great. I just went ahead and bought #5 ... why not? Troy is not easily squashed into a certain music genre ... he's a bit complex for that :)

I could not agree more! Except that I did like his last album.
