Billy Strings' 2019 album Home and 2021 album Renewal. Home won a Grammy
for the best bluegrass album. I knew that Billy was a great guitar player, one of
the very few who can keep up pickin' with Tommy Emmanuel, but I decided to
buy these two when I read his story in the NYT. In the interview, Billy said that
ten years ago he never thought he'd be alive today, too far into the booze and
drugs. But now, he has cleaned up his act and is making great music again. As
y'all know, not all great musicians can beat back the devil.
