If you're into guitar and you haven't heard Tommy Bolin's guitar on "Post Toastee," take the time...it'll be worth it (the bass line is intense as well.)


A very good guitarist but sadly, he was yet another victim of drugs.
He died in 1976, aged just 25.
I really like his playing on Billy Cobham's 1973 album 'Spectrum'.
It was his performance on that album which got him noticed by Coverdale and led to him getting the job as Ritchie Blackmore's replacement in Deep Purple.

Interesting. I knew he was in Deep Purple for a time. He was in a band called Zephyr, and did a stint in The James Gang as well before that...I always thought that he sounded more like Jeff Beck than Ritchie Blackmore or Joe Walsh...tragic loss.
