What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Jeff Beck approached George Martin & asked him if he would produce an album for him. This is the album, Blow by Blow released in 1975. In an 2016 interview after George Martin’s passing this was Beck’s tribute : “To work with someone of that caliber … he gave me a career,” Beck says now. “Without him, who knows what would have happened.”

A seminal album @BobG55.
I still listen to it regularly, 45 years after its release!
Jeff Beck, has an air of nonchalance about him and gives the impression that he is far more interested in cars than music.
However, this belies his genius as a truly innovative guitarist and also his perfectionism.
I heard a great anecdote about Blow by Blow from George Martin.
Having spent a huge amount of studio time getting the album to sound just right, the story goes that Jeff rang George and said that he just wanted to do another couple of takes.
George said 'You're a bit late Geoffrey. The album is in the shops!'

The first four albums were listened to over the weekend. Exploring Rock/Metal in 1980 with the exception of Sonic Youth (first listen didn't really catch me). Also compared each release to the songs that were on the Top 40 the week each was released. It's been an interesting day so far!
