My wife's family live in the New Orleans area. In late 2005, we hosted 14 of them at our
home in Cincinnati. Elder bro Rusty stayed behind, despite the State of Emergency, to
confirm the houses were safe (they were). Our kids, who had an apartment, lost everything
they owned. These "protest" albums by Mr. Rebennack address the administration's failure in
the years after the storm. RIP, Dr. John, you had a story and a message to send ... well done :)

City That Care Forgot.jpg
Soulful & sad New Orleans blues with a ton of guest musicians including Eric Clapton
and Willie Nelson. Released in 2008 with Dr. John's band "The Lower 911."

Released in 2010, next in line of Dr. John's Hurricane Katrina protest albums. Heavy and
relevant messages. Great musicality is prevalent. Thanks @Ableza for your guidance.

Longhair.jpg
Henry Roland Byrd, aka "Fess" and "Professor Longhair." Piano mentor to Dr. John.
A true NO legend from back in the day. Boogie woogie music with New Orleans rhythms.
Simply delightful ... YouTube him - so you can see his hands.

It's been fun! The red beans are almost ready! Cheers, all.

Fully agree, he needed a cause to further inspire him! Thanks, Doug :)
