A bunch of Brazilian dvds for such artists as Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Marisa Monte, Gilberto Gil, Tom Jobim, and others as I work on a lecture for class tomorrow on Brazilian popular music. I also get to perform a samba that I wrote entitled, "Love Tractor," a Saskatchewan samba.

Later in the day:
I'm actually watching and listening to a film, Outros (doces) Barbaros a film by Andrucha Waddington which is about the musical collaboration of some of Brazil's major artists, including Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, and Maria Bethania. It's very cool. I might have to offer a course: The Sociology of Music of North and South America: Samba and the Blues.
I have to think this through, but I'd have more fun teaching this than International Criminal Justice Systems.

Cheers!
