I love that OM album. There are so many albums under the metal banner that are beautiful albums.....just purchased and listened to
This is a band from Iceland. Labeled as metal but they also have elements of post rock....possibly the most beautiful "heavy" album I've heard all year. Really gorgeous.
Very eclectic Melvins. the first half of the alum harken to their 90's major label releases-Stoner Witch and Houdini-great wide ranging rock release from these veterans. One interesting note-they teamed with members from the Butthole Surfers-two of the more interesting alternative 90's bands....thumbs up from me. The ambient weirdness factor is dampened in favor of some great rock and alt metal
This is one of the most interesting possibly controversial releases of the year-a electronic/house album reinterpreting black metal classics. It is a "queer" album that gives an electronic treatment of a genre I enjoy but have to be honest can be homophobic and xenophobic...very interesting.
Amazon says,
The Soft Pink Truth is the solo alter ego of Drew Daniel, one half of celebrated Baltimore-based electronic duo Matmos. After a decade of silence in which Daniel concentrated on Matmos and becoming a Shakespeare professor, The Soft Pink Truth is set to release Why Do the Heathen Rage? whose subtitle “Electronic Profanations of Black Metal Classics” reveals its bizarre agenda as an unrequited love letter to a justly divisive genre. A gleeful queer travesty of black metal’s undying obsession with kvlt authenticity, Why Do the Heathen Rage? is also a formally precise homage executed with a scholar’s obsession. With the guitar chord transcription assistance of Owen Gardner (Teeth Mountain, Horse Lords) and a coven of guest vocalists
From a straight metal guy who also enjoys good electronica this hands down a great electronic album with most unusual subject material...

Oh My !!!!!!!!! Listening w/T1, GS-1
That's funny I was about to post this. "Born Under a Bad Sign" is my favorite on the album. "Blues is easy to play but hard to feel" - Jimi Hendrix : )
That's because you have very good taste in music
